at an awards ceremony during the annual CQR International Workshop in San Diego,
California on May 16, 2012.

AWARD RECIPIENTS


Christopher J Mayer,

Vice President – Systems Integration and Testing, Verizon, USA

 

For Leadership in integrating solutions and improving the quality and
reliability of those capabilities before they are brought into the network.

Chris Mayer is Vice President, Systems Integration and Testing, at Verizon.
There, he leads Verizon’s ISO-certified labs in testing new products and
services before their network deployment and for assuring the safety and
reliability compliance of supplier equipment.  SIT performs testing and NEBS
compliance work in support of new product and service introductions for the
Verizon Telecom and Verizon Business networks.  Chris has worked for Verizon and
its predecessors for 32 years.

Prior to this role, Chris held positions in engineering and technology and was previously
Director – Access Systems Testing and Director – VoIP Systems Testing in SIT.
Before joining the Technology organization in 1994 to test video and access
systems, Chris worked in video and transmission engineering at C&P Telephone, a
subsidiary of Bell Atlantic.

Chris holds a masters degree in Technology Management from University of Pennsylvania
and a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins. He lives
with his wife in Morristown, NJ and works at Verizon’s corporate headquarters in
Basking Ridge, NJ.
